Aintree-based CNC Robotics was founded in 2011 by former stage set designer Jason Barker who has developed software which puts traditional robots to new uses.
The company has now received £100,000 backing from North West Fund for Loans Plus.
Earlier this year, CNC Robotics was named one of the monthly winners in the 2013 Merseyside Innovation Awards and last year its products were housed in Hyde Park during the Olympics where they made small sculptures of London landmarks out of chocolate.
It has used this loan to equip its new 10,000 sq ft base in Aintree and, having increased capacity, can now provide customers with a wider range of services, including turn-key machining, 3D scanning and machining to create rapid prototypes.
Barker said: "The loan has enabled us to invest in the new robots, technology and other equipment we need to expand.
"We've built up an international client base and can now provide them with an even more comprehensive service."
